Stute News
January 2017
Thankyou- an appeal for donations for some Christmas decorations prompted quick responses from our lovely users. Thank you very much as this gave the Stute a festive feel over the Christmas period this year (and the next few too!) If anyone would like to donate some Xmas tree lights for next year they would be de-light-fully received.
Fun and Fund-Raising
After 14 years of constant use, the blue gym mats need replacing - not
all of them, thankfully, but the ones that get the most use. We would like to
get 8 or 10 new mats costing £150 each and with this in mind fund-raising has
begun. Late in 2016 the Stute Exercise classes held a Coffee & Cake morning
and raised an exceptional £303 followed by an extra Stute raffle which raised
another £44. Well done to all involved. The exercisers promise to work hard to
use up all those extra cakey calories!
Plans are progressing for other ideas and include a 24 hour sponsored Snookerthon, a Jumble Sale, Children and family Photo shoot - we would welcome your support with any or all of these. You could sponsor a snooker player or offer to make the tea and coffee; donate to or attend and buy at the Jumble Sale. Has anyone got any ideas to have fun and raise a few quid into the bargain? Maybe try a Mini Snooker or pool tournament between friends; an afternoon tea; sponsored games night; coffee and cake for parents waiting to pick up children; a whist drive; raffle ..... I am sure you can think of others........ pop in to John for a chat or phone on 01455 847273 or Julia on 01455 457696. Let’s get these mats bought soon.
