Early Billiard Table
Although of the same period as the foundation of the Institute, this photo' is of Mr H Cooper and his son H Cooper Junior,
believed to be taken in Barwell.
Can anyone date it and name the location more precisely?
An entry in the Institute Minute Book for 26th Aug 1909 shows that the Billiard Table from Mr H Cooper
was purchased at a price of £45.
And a minute for Nov 1909, quote "Resolved that the billiard table when moved, be
recovered by the man who moves the table from Mr Coopers do the work"; this was in anticipation of the move to the Institute's
new building and suggests that this table was purchased and transferred to the Institute in 1909.
